Protecting the Wild: An Epic Mission to Save Mexican Wolves
On Oct. 11, a special episode of Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom Protecting the Wild airs on NBC, featuring efforts to protect the endangered Mexican wolf.
Aimed at inspiring the next generation of conservationists, hosts Dr. Rae Wynn-Grant and Peter Gros take an in-depth look at the conservation challenges and successes that have brought back the species from near eradication.
It was an honor to welcome the film crew to Ladder and to be part of this important story.
Following the weekend's TV premiere, it will be available to stream for free at nbc.com.
A natural oasis bisected by four Rio Grande tributaries, the 156,000-acre Ladder is home to rich biodiversity and has been a focal point for several species restoration programs, including the Mexican wolf and Chiricahua leopard frog. Guests may visit the property as part of a day tour or stay in Ted Turner's private, four-bedroom Country House complete with a private chef, server, and activities guide.
